promis•e LT
promis•e Express Edition
promis•e Standard Edition
promis•e Professional Edition
promis•e Enterprise Edition
Although the feature set of promis•e LT is somewhat reduced compared to the other editions, it still provides a wide array of intelligent design functions at a reasonable price.
Project Manager
Intuitive file management which centralizes project and page management features by combing Microsoft Windows® commands with promis•e commands. All projects and page management features are accessible from this interface along with many other features. You can create, modify and organize your projects and pages using the pull-down menus, right-click menus and toolbars.
By streamlining the user interface, you do not need to retrain on basic file management commands. Project and Page Management can be accomplished with Microsoft Windows file commands.
Project files can be stored in any user definable directories/folders on local or network drives, thus giving total flexibility and integration capabilities with document management systems.
Multi-User/Discipline Collaboration
The software allows multiple users to work within the same project at the same time. For example if user makes a change on page 1 that affects the schematic on page 10, the user working on page 10 would see the updates when they refresh or reopen the page.
User Definable Drawing Naming Conventions
Offers the flexibility and consistency you need in your drawing naming conventions. Assign a format expression using various project and page title block attributes and promis•e will automatically use your defined naming convention when creating sheets.
Multi-Document Interface (MDI)
Increase your productivity by taking advantage of the MDI interface. This allows you to open more than one sheet at the same time. Cut, Copy, and Paste quickly without having to close and reopen files.
Automatic Device Tagging
When a symbol is placed, the system automatically prompts you with a unique device tag based on predefined formats such as line number, page number, or sequential number, selected from the Project Parameters dialog. This frees you from having to keep track of assigned device tags. You can accept or type over the prompted device tag. Even when a macro is placed, the individual symbols within the macros are given device tags in this manner.
Predefined Device Tag Formats
The software provides predefined device tag formats which including Device Tag Sequential and Device Tag Page/Line Number.
Wire Numbering with Intelligence
Software allows you to manually select wire numbers and checks for duplicates as you assign these numbers.
When selecting wire numbers, you can to assign various wire parameters to each wire. These parameters include: gauge, color, type, voltage, current and part number. With this information you can generate custom wire reports.
AutoCAD Block Migration Tool
Reuse your existing block/symbol libraries! This tool allows you to reuse AutoCAD Blocks with a minimal amount of work. The symbol creation process is streamlined into a step-by-step procedure. You can map existing AutoCAD attributes or select existing AutoCAD text within the block to map to promis•e, simplifying symbol creation. The Symbol Creation Wizard walks you through the steps while creating a symbol.
Intelligent Off Page Wire References
Not all wires fit on one page. In a typical project it is very common to show a wire in one column of a page and continue that wire onto the next column or even the next page. With promis•e you can make a logical connection between these wires.
This is accomplished by placing a wire link. There are three types of wire links that you can use.
- Pair - Two wire link symbols cross-reference to each other
- Star Group - A group of wire links all cross-references back to a single, primary link
- Multi-Reference Group - A group of wire links cross-reference to all the other links in the group
In addition, wire links can exist in two states:
- Variable - The software automatically decides which wire links should be cross-referenced together as additional wire links are added to the project.
- Forced - You can manually assign the relation between the wire links. As additional wire links are added the software will maintain the connection integrity for existing wire links.
Instantaneous Real Time Error Checking
Have you ever assigned too many contacts to a relay in your design? Real time error checking captures critical errors as you are working on the design rather than having to generate an error report for the whole project. Error checking include such conditions as duplicate wire tags, duplicate device tags and pin/contact over-assignment.
Instantaneous Real Time Cross-Referencing
Reduce many hours of errors with real time cross-referencing! Parent/Child cross-references are automatically generated as you build your design. For example, with coil and contact referencing, the cross-reference chart is automatically populated when you place associated contacts for the coil. The cross-reference chart indicates the exact page and location for each contact used. In addition, the contact automatically references the location of the coil.
Cross-referencing applies not only to contacts and coils but also to other devices such as multi-position selector switches and I/O points of programmable controller modules. Parent/child relationships can also be established between electrical and hydraulic/pneumatic or PID elements for use in multi-discipline projects.
Symbol Catalogs
You can select symbols by entering the symbol name, part number or device ID or by selecting them from a toolbar or icon window. You can create your own custom symbols or use symbols from existing libraries.
The Catalog Manager provides an easy and organized interface to promis•e symbol catalogs, similar to Microsoft Windows Explorer. It allows you to copy, cut and paste items between catalogs and create new catalogs.
When you select an individual symbol in a catalog, a thumbnail view of that symbol will appear at the bottom of the Catalog Manager. You can copy an individual item or a group of items from one catalog and paste it into another catalog.
Automatic Report Generation
From the Generate Report dialog box, you can select various predefined reports for generation. You have the option to view reports on the screen, output to a printer, place the report on a drawing or output to a file. The enhanced report output options include PDF capabilities.
Predefined reports include: Bill of Material (Quantified), Family List, Installation List, Macro List, Page Format List, Symbols List, Wire Links List, and Wire List.

Custom Report Designer
You can use this very powerful tool to create your own custom report formats. The template designer allows you to drag and drop data fields directly into your template or define SQL statements to extract data. Your custom design templates can be stored, allowing you to reuse the templates on future projects. You can preview the report by selecting the Preview or HTML tabs. If you have a project open, data from the project will appear in the preview.
