Entivity to Distribute ECT's promis•e® Electrical CAD Software

Brookfield, WI, November 21, 2001, ECT International, the market leader in electrical design software, has entered into an agreement with Entivity, Inc., the leading supplier of PC-based automation and control software. Under the agreement Entivity will sell ECT's promis•e electrical design software through its distribution channel.

The promis•e software automates the task of designing electrical control systems. When creating schematics, many tasks such a ID assignment, cross referencing and wire numbering are performed automatically. An integrated parts database allows a bill of material to be generated automatically based on drawing contents. There are also special modes for creating terminal plans, panel layouts and PLC drawings. As part of the agreement, ECT will modify promis•e so that it can exchange data with Entivity's PLC programming and PC-based control software.

Entivity's Studio product, with integrated Visio technology for control logic and HMI, combines built-in productivity analysis, enterprise connectivity, and scalability across the full range of Microsoft Windows platforms to accelerate the development and deployment of manufacturing systems.
