Project Builder
Project Builder allows you to define your product configuration and options. Using a standard Microsoft Excel spreadsheet file you can define your circuit macro variables and set their appropriate values. When you are ready to generate drawings, simply load your Excel file into Project Builder and the software takes over to generate the necessary drawing pages automatically.
Forced Wire Routing
Reduce shop and field wiring time with this simple but powerful tool. Forced routing allows you to override an existing wire routing path between components. By utilizing Forced Routing during the design stage, you can specify a more efficient wire routing path, thus allowing you to generate an accurate wiring diagram or point-to-point wire list. When providing the shop or field personnel with a routed wire report, they will save many hours of termination time and reduce costly wiring errors. When this feature is used in conjunction with our Shortest Distance wiring feature (Available in the Enterprise Edition), the wire/cable lengths are automatically calculated.
Dynamic Wiring Diagrams
Physical wiring diagram connection information is automatically generated when using this feature. The user can configure a component to be an actual representation of the component or a chart. Similar to the Panel Layout feature, the user can place either a wire diagram symbol or chart. The software will automatically populate the wiring connection information, reducing time and redundant data entry. The Connection information is derived from the schematic diagrams, forced routing, and shortest distance routing, which is available in the Enterprise Edition. When the Dynamic function is turned on for wire diagrams, any changes from the schematic are automatically reflected on the wiring diagram symbols or charts in real time.
Terminal/Pin-Plug Manager
The Terminal/Pin-Plug Manager allows you to sort, select and edit terminal strip and pin-plug information. Often there are items that reside on terminal strips that are not reflected in the schematic drawings. With the terminal manager, you can easily add items such as end barriers, voltage barriers, and other types of devices. Other functions allow you to rename terminals, add/change part numbers, add/change jumpers, and sort the terminals. All changes made in the Terminal/Pin-Plug Manager are reflected in the graphical terminal and pin-plug plans and in schematic drawings.
Graphical Plans
The software can automatically create graphical plans for certain devices such as terminal strips and plugs that show connection information for each terminal or pin. In other words, it is a visual representation of a plug or a terminal strip along with useful connection information that a technician would need to wire the devices and terminals together.
The graphical plan designer feature allows you to create or modify existing graphical plans. It is typically used for terminal strip wiring detail drawings and terminal strip rotations. The easy-to-use interface allows you to drag and drop attributed data files into your graphical plan template.
Data Editor
The Data Editor allows centralized project data manipulation. Often you start your design without having all the detailed information. This feature allows you to edit various drawing attributes with a spreadsheet-like interface. As you make changes in the Data Editor, it will automatically populate the drawing with your values, ensuring maximum accuracy and efficiency without have to open many pages. By using this tool for global changes you will eliminate many hours of redundant data entry.
Cable Manager
Manually maintaining your cable data can be a time consuming task. Cable Manager allows you to fully maintain and edit cable data through a spreadsheet-like interface instead of manually modifying drawings pages. This tool becomes very useful after your design has been completed. Cable attributes are user-definable. You can assign conduit, cable tray, length information or other user-definable attributes to your cables. This allows you to automatically generate cable and conduit schedules. You can also assign cable-attributed information to more than one cable at the same time. For example; you have ten cables that are routed through Tray Number 5, simply select all five cables, fill in the Tray attribute once and the value will be applied to all the selected cables.
Multi-Language Drawing Text
Predefined descriptive text can be displayed in up to three different languages simultaneously. You can select which languages are to be used. The text database editor allows you to create or edit languages and translations.
Spare Parts Utility
The software can automatically calculate the number of spare devices needed for a particular job. You can assign a "percent spare" value to each device listed in the parts database. When these devices are used, it will automatically generate a spare parts list. You can also adjust the "percent spare" value for specific projects.
Mode Manager
With the Mode Manager, you create standardization and consistency throughout various drawing types. A drawing mode is a state that the software is in that enables the user to create a particular type of drawing such as a schematic or a panel layout. The Mode Manager allows you to customize the software's dialog prompts and menus for a particular drawing mode. You can also assign a specific graphic symbol for each mode. For example, you place a valve in the Schematic mode and the software will allow you place the electrical solenoid symbol. When you switch to Pneumatic mode, the software allows you to place the pneumatic symbol for the component that was placed in Schematic mode. Your changes to the dialog prompts and menus can be stored as a configuration (mode); allowing you to select the desired drawing mode during your design.
