"I would recommend the promis•e software to
anyone who is looking for an electrical CAD package; it has increased our
productivity by 50 percent. It was very easy to learn and we were using it
fully within a couple of weeks. The cable editor option is a great tool which
allows us to put all our cable information on the schematic - a real time
saver. We have used ECT technical support a couple of times and they were
extremely responsive in answering our questions completely. We are VERY
satisfied."
- Scott Lesniak, Raymond Professional Group
"Prior to purchasing promis•e I evaluated other
electrical CAD software packages. I found that they just didn't give us
true error-checking and had very limited reporting functions. One competing,
lower level product took 2-3 commands to do the same thing that
promis•e software can do in one step. The
promis•e cable field report saves us a lot of time when
pulling cables throughout our tray/conduit system. We also like the ability to
generate data between our piping schematics back to our electrical control
schematics automatically."
- Mike Crocco, Montgomery Watson Harza
"The promis•e Shortest Distance and reporting
generation saves us as much as 2 to 3 fold over using straight AutoCAD. We
have also experienced major improvement in the accuracy of our drawings. I
self-trained myself fairly quickly. The software was easy to pick up. Some of
my co-workers benefited greatly from training at ECT, while the software was
easy for me to pick up. I was able to self-train quickly."
- Rob Rugowski, Kohler Power Systems
"promis•e is worth the price. I practically
recovered the cost of paying for the software in the first project. My first
drafting project, I was up and running in a week. As our project got larger,
we customized promis•e to meet our needs. Once
promis•e set up is done, it’s pretty easy to use.
promis•e’s unique browse copy feature, speeds up
the drafting time significantly by copying information from one page to
another. promis•e real-time cross-referencing and signal
reference update multiple pages at once. I would recommend anyone to use
promis•e to make electrical schematics. It saves a lot
of drafting time because of its smart features."
- James Huynh, DRS Power & Control Technologies
"Our sister factory uses a competing software package and wanted us to
switch over. I said (with the backing of our EE's) in a race you have a
Porsche and a Pinto. Your software is the Pinto, mine is the Porsche. When
your Pinto can out-perform my Porsche then we will switch over. Until then, I
don't think so. Now they are looking at upgrading to the
Porsche."
- Chuck Field, John Deere Davenport Works
"I feel that promis•e is the most complete
controls design package for an electrical engineer to use. I would have a hard
time being forced to use just AutoCAD for schematic design. I have been using
promis•e for seven years and the continuous improvement
of the software has been great."
- Eric Manninen, Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc.
"We use many different control devices in our projects, so being able
to quickly create and save new symbols for future use is a time saver. My
experience is that drawings can be created in less time and that they are
easier to follow. Because there is so much checking and verifying automatically
going on with promis•e, it is difficult to create an
inaccurate drawing. I have been using promis•e for four
years now with very little CAD experience before that, and found that it was
easy to pick up. For anyone with an average amount of CAD experience, it should
be a snap."
- Lyle Wagar, Nova Systems Inc.
"I'm very pleased with our purchase of the
promis•e software. I especially like the
cross-referencing feature of parent and child on and off page signals. The
promis•e software has allowed us to increase our
productivity 85-90%. Due to the real-time error checking of the software, we
also increased the accuracy of our drawings by 90%. As you can imagine, the
promis•e software is saving us time and money and
I've recommended it to several companies. If you're not using
promis•e, I encourage you to check it out!"
- Mark Brockman, CAD Coordinator, Alstom Signaling
"The copy function and real-time cross reference save me the most time
in project development. When I call technical support, the response time is
good and my questions are answered well."
- Jerry Hrdlicka, Industrial Tool Inc.
"I feel I've got more design flexibility with
promis•e in that I'm not so reluctant to move a relay
around because I don't have to worry about changing the cross referencing
for a 4 or 12 pole relay. The cost of a full seat of
promis•e is small in comparison to the potential savings
after implementation. There are other software packages that make electrical
drawings, but I believe in this case you get what you pay for."
- Ron Dul, North American Hydro, Inc.
"We outlined a list of features that we wanted. After looking at
promis-e and some competitors we realized that promis•e
provided the most features on our list. Another issue that went into our
reasoning was that it had to work with AutoCAD to provide us with a universal
file format. We've seen an increase in productivity of about 50% since
using promis•e. There is also an increase in the quality
of the layouts and schematics. I appreciate the improved accuracy of the
drawings very much because the two issues that seemed to always give me trouble
were the terminal block list and the connections from page to page in the
schematics. Now with everything real time I can make a change and not worry as
much about what this change will affect."
